BitMap Monogram

The BitMap Monogram assignment explored the concept of making a unique typeface without the use of diagonals or stair stepping. During this project, a lot of focus was placed on system and consistency. A minimal design was used to create the monogram seen here. An 8-bit style was also one of the inspirations for the typeface. One of the most challenging aspects of this assignment was the rules put in place and how to follow them while still creating a cohesive system. The issue presented with the first iteration was the N looked too much like an H. While still following the rules and attempting to be as minimal as possible a new solution had to be found in order to improve legibility.
